May is Skin Cancer Awareness month in the US, and despite not being huge into the particulars of all national days and months, this one is a very special for me.
My family has a tendency to have skin issues. From my grandmother to my father and uncles, have all had their fair share of occurrences with skin issues and cancers.
Taking my skin care and protection seriously has been one of my top priorities for several years now. Even if I do use sunscreen on my body, the shade of my face is significantly paler than my body.
I do blame general exposure to it mostly, but I must admit that I make it a point to reapply either a protective powder or cream repeatedly to my face.
So below are the best and also most affordable sunscreens you can easily get online. Everyone should be able to get an everyday sunscreen for every budget!
SCINIC Enjoy Super Mild Sun Essence
This is my current sunscreen and easily one of my favourite. So much so, that I always make sure I have one of these on hand even when I try different brands of sunscreen.
It is light weight and does not leave a white cast. I know I am fairly light skinned, but I can get tanned in the summer. No matter the shade I sport, winter or summer, this sunscreen is such an easy one to keep on hand for daily use at home, in my beach bag and even my diaper bag.
At a $9.95 price tag, I find it hard not repurchase this cream over and over again. When trying it on Alaia, she never complains about it bothering her eyes, and it quickly spreads so I can reach every area of her face. So it is officially is kid friendly (for us! This is not pediatrician or medical professional backed).
Beauty of Joseon’s Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotic
This sunscreen is my personal latest find, but has had some of the best reviews online from lots of prominent people in the beauty and skincare world. With a 4.8 average rating on several sites, I cannot wait to give it a try.
It’s easily found on Walmart’s website, Amazon or Stylevana.
At $18 this is a bit pricier than the last one, but I still find that the price for the protective properties it provides, it great.
I have now been using it for a little over 3 weeks, and I truly love how moisturized and soft it leaves my skin. I do feel like it takes a moment to sink in, so it leaves you a bit pale at first. But after 5-10 minutes, nothing shows.
Great for all skin types.
IUNIK Centella Calming Moisture Daily Sunscreen
This is another constant repeat in our house.
One video mentioning the Centella Asiatica extract and it’s benefits is what drew me the most to this cream.
It moisturizes eczema prone skin, reduces inflammation, slows the signs of aging, but especially helps the healing of burns and wounds. And as much as it may not seem or feel like we get easily burned, I do believe it happens when we are exposed to the sun.
This sunscreen is creamy, slightly heavier than the first one categorized as an essence, and yet very easy to blend.
The price is $15.99 on Amazon and well worth it. Just a few dollops will cover your entire face and neck, and it will be completely protected from the sun.
La Roche-Posay Anthelios Melt-In Milk
I know what some may think. This is not necessarily categorized as a face sunscreen lotion. But I could not miss mentioning this one on the list.
There are so many benefits to this lotion that make it worthy of everyone’s purchase.
The price is $25.99 but you are also getting 150 mL in this bottle. This will last you for soooooooo long! You can cover your face, neck, shoulders and décolletage easily.
As the name mentions, it has a milky texture and spreads very easily and smoothly. It has no scent, which is a pro for all people who prefer not to wear scented lotions or are sensitive to them.
Naturium UV Reflect Antioxidant
Last, but certainly not least, is this incredibly brightening and beautiful sunscreen.
If you’re into skincare, the name Susan Yara should certainly ring a bell. She acquired Naturium and has elevated this brand to another level.
It does need some vigorous shaking. I learned that the hard way the first time. But once shaken, it looks incredibly nice under make up, even a small layer of it.
It is a chemical sunscreen, so you have to apply it 15 minutes before going in to the sun. And it will leave you perfectly glowing.
I hope you can find a sunscreen that fits well with your skin tone and budget. Lord knows that it should not cost an arm and a leg to protect your skin, and these brands are outstanding at blocking out all the rays of the sun.
Remember to always put sunscreen on, whether you’re staying home, it is cloudy outside or you wear make up. It’s not worth the negative side effects in the long run. The sooner you start, the longer you will continue having beautiful and healthy skin.
Are there any other sunscreens you use and love that I didn’t mention? Is there a brand out there worth trying? Please leave and share your faves down in the comment section below. I love trying new brands and options out in the market.
Thank you for stopping by.
With love,
Yara
