In this post I am sharing the top 5 best father’s day gift ideas for the man of your life. And with father’s day fast approaching, best get ready!
Dad’s are such special people. They are strong, courageous, the best night time readers, the funniest people… And the list goes on.
I know that I would not know what to do without my husband. He has a way to just get on the level of our kids, no matter the age. And we have a big age gap. One of 13, 7, 3 and a baby. And somehow, he is able to connect with each one in a very special way.
I am also incredibly privileged that my husband is an incredible cook. I’m talking about homemade pizza, amazing pasta dishes, grilled foods, from scratch bread…
So with all these skills, I feel like he deserves more than just one day. But we will focus on this for now.
And to celebrate his and all dads’ awesomeness, it is fit to get them a special gift. As always, I like to keep my gifts very budget friendly. I am not trying to break the bank here.
Personalized Picture Frame
Our kids recently had picture day at school and that’s how this idea came about. Pictures are always a good and very personalized idea, which can rarely go wrong.
Not many people have the habit of printing and framing pictures anymore, and it takes the thought and effort off of the father to do so.
I saved a few of the small, wallet-sized pictures of our kids for him, so I can glue them to the card he will get. And then I found this super fun Picture frame that you can personalize.
Kids grow up so quickly, and it’s easy to
The Not-So Traditional Card
Some may love the traditional Hallmark cards, which are great. They have tons of options, are beautiful and serve their purpose.
But I have tried to do a little spin to our cards the last couple of years. Last year I had the kids make him a father’s day card. They got to decorate the outside, and then write their names and a message on the inside.
This year, I saw this Fun card and couldn’t help it. The best part is that you can customize the outside with things about the dad, so he can have a laugh just looking at the card.
Then you can still add a message and the kids names on the inside.
It’s really fun, unique and gives the traditional card a little twist. I plan on just getting one and adding all their names and ages in a color each.
A Gift for the BBQ Master
If you have a husband/ dad who is a fan of the grill, especially in this time of year. The summer and all the holidays that are coming up are the perfect excuse to add to his grilling tools collection.
We have a smoker and a traditional charcoal grill at home, and since we love cooking all types of meats and veggies on the grill, I thought these Grill baskets would be perfect for chopped up veggies that tend to fall through the cracks.
It can be difficult and messy to use aluminum foil or other things, but these baskets can easily be turned over the fire, and will allow your veggies to cook evenly without falling off.
It’s a great gift for dad, and a win for mom since I will not have to cook the veggies separately myself (lol).
A Gift for the Funny Dad
This is a funny gift which I came across on Instagram. Our daughter (3) has been very much into Bluey and her and my husband love to imitate some of the games and things that Bluey, Bingo and the dad do in the show.
So when I saw this Puzzle and that you could personalize it, I could not resist it.
They have a few image and message options, but it’s a very sweet gift that dad and/or grandpa can enjoy with the kids. Ours love puzzles, and we surely do not have enough of those.
It is also not too complicated, so the younger kids can play with this too.
A Gift for the Intellectual Dad
If your husband is a lover of books, magazines or reading in general, a subscription may be exactly what they need.
If you read my post about 5 Steps for a Simple & Meaningful Lent, I shared my love for email subscriptions that everyone can get straight into their inbox.
Similar to the emails, I believe a subscription to a magazine they like (paper or online), Kindle Unlimited, or Audible are some great gift options if you have a reader in your midst.
Mine loves physical books, so I am always stalking his latest purchases and library to see what I can get him.
He often also tells me about a book he would like to read, and I use that as my gift guide.
But He has also been reading the First Things Magazine too. His father gifted him a yearly subscription to the magazine for Christmas 2022 and since it has expired, I decided to get him the online version, where he gets the featured articles directly to his email. He also gets access to their online magazine site.
Anything to show dad how much we love him
In the end, anything purchased or crafted, will show dad how much you and the kids love and appreciate him.
And I truly find that a simple flower bouquet (we got him purple tulips this year) and the kids wrote on this card for him, and it was enough for him to have a huge smile on his face.
Maybe it’s my personality, or the way our marriage is and has developed, but I find that the best gifts are the most thoughtful and personalized ones. The budget can be what it is, but my husband always manages to show the children how much he appreciates their gifts.
I believe that’s one of the best examples he can show them, and one that they always recall. He truly is an incredible father and we are endlessly grateful for his love and care of us.
I hope all the dads’ in your lives have an incredible father’s day and feel loved and appreciated.
Lots of love,
Yara
